Established in 1879, Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is one of the nation’s 18 first class cricket counties and operates within the sports and entertainment industry. Since September 2014, LCCC has embarked on a period of significant change, resulting in the recruitment of a new Chief Executive, Head Coach and Club Captain - signalling an exciting new era in the history of the club.
Ensuring the players achieve their full potential is critical if the club is to achieve its aspirational vision. To assist with this, LCCC is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to support the creation of a high performance coaching structure at the club.
LCCC is seeking to appoint an individual for the following role:
2nd X1 Coach & Assistant Skills Coach
Duration: Permanent
Hours per week: Full Time
Salary: Competitive
Line Manager Position: Elite Performance Director
Location: Normally Grace Road, but as and where required by the Line Manager
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
To effectively contribute to the high performance coaching team and to coach and manage all 2nd team affairs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To plan, lead and deliver a match program along with providing individualised skills programmes for each member of Leicestershire’s 2nd XI team
2. To work with the Academy Director in identifying players that can add depth and be future 1st team players
3. In conjunction with the Academy Director, to act as a selector for 2nd XI teams, in line with the direction agreed at player management meetings
4. To attend and contribute at player management and strategy group meetings and support the clubs culture and direction
5. To provide extra skills assistance across all three disciplines, to the 1st XI when required by the Elite Performance Director 6. Assist in the coaching of the Academy players, as instructed by the Elite Performance Director
7. Compile and analyse all 2nd team games and report back to the Elite Performance Director

8. To compile individual technical plans for players for the winter program for all professional staff players in the areas required by the Elite Performance Director (batting / bowling / fielding)
9. To work with the professional playing staff at all times
10. To attend and input into all cricket department coaches meetings
11. To serve as a role model in conjunction with the club values and strategic plans
12. To attend and have input into player appraisals for batting/bowling and fielding and provide feedback when required to the Elite Performance Director

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:
Essential
- ECB Level 3, 4 coaching qualifications or national equivalent
- Current CRB, child protection (safeguarding young people)
Desirable
- Played first class cricket Previous coaching experience Excellent Coaching knowledge in batting, bowling and fielding
- Personal Attributes, Aptitudes and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- A knowledge and understanding of LCCC and the professional game from County through to the national and international level
- Strong leader and good man management skills
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent coaching skills of teams and individuals – batting, bowling and fielding
- Good time management, negotiation and presentation skills
- Positive and energetic
- Adaptable, flexible and has the ability to influence change
