CRICKET JOBS: Major Project and Capital Investment Accountant - MCC, Lords (UK)

Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club) is the world’s most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and is also the owner of Lord’s Ground, affectionately known as the “Home of Cricket”. Lord’s is renowned worldwide for staging international cricket matches with up to 30,000 spectators in attendance each day. With 200 full time employees, the Club is also supported by c. 1, 200 casual workers during international cricket matches.The Club is about to embark on a major ground development to enhance the facilities at Lord’s.An opportunity has arisen for a Major Projects & Capital Investment Accountant to manage and report on the financial aspects of this development and other major projects.
The role will also ensure that the Club’s assets are properly recorded and depreciated within an up-to-date Fixed Asset Register, and that all project expenditure across the Club is properly approved, managed within budgets and reviewed post completion against success criteria. The successful candidate will also play a major role in developing the investment skills and effectiveness of the Club.
Required skills and experience
The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of investment appraisal techniques, and be able to communicate complicated issues in a simple manner.
To be at least a part qualified Accountant with good experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, project management and forecasting.
Have the ability to work collegiately with different operational teams and individuals, as well as being able to quickly build trust and maintain relationships.
