Hours: Initially 3 days a week potentially increasing to full time
Salary: 18,000 – 22,000 full time equivalent (based on experience)
Introduction
The Lord's Taverners exists to enhance the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled young people using cricket and other forms of sport and recreation to engage with them. We were founded as a Charitable Membership organisation and we maintain as part of our overall activities an active membership of just under 5,000.
We envisage a future where all young people, irrespective of background and ability, have the everyday opportunity to play or enjoy sports and physical activities to the benefit of their self-esteem, health, and education.
Job Purpose
We are currently looking for an Administration Assistant to undertake the administrative duties associated with running a membership database. This will involve data entry and mailing collateral along with financial administration including maintaining the purchase ledger, invoice management and filing.
Key Accountabilities
- Entering financial data, administrating the process of invoices on to the purchase ledger on a frequent basis
- Document management and filing; ensuring codes correspond with the correct departments, management of incoming post and filing
- Receipt, acknowledgment and management of all new member applications, reviewing for compliance with Membership requirements;
- Management of the collection of subscriptions;
- Updating membership data in terms of activities, interests, payment methods etc;
- Processing changes in membership status;
- Preparation and publication of the members handbook;
- In respect of Membership events, taking bookings, dealing with dietary requirements, and assisting with event preparation.
Required Attributes
- Experience of successful organisational administration and the ability to multi-task;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Ability to manage a contacts database such as SAP Business One;
- Proficient in the use of MS Office;
- Ability to operate effectively in a support role to senior staff;
- Very good communications skills, both in writing and verbally;
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Ability to work unsupervised and to identify opportunities for improvement;
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience of working in an administrative role;
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures and accounting software.
