CRICKET JOBS: Performance Analyst NCPC - ECB (UK)

The aim of this role is ensure England Cricket has state-of-the-art knowledge and intelligence on what it takes to be a world’s best player and that England Cricket is monitoring its impact on player performance development. The post holder will have responsibility for the long-term performance profiling of England Senior Men’s players - including the creation and maintenance of a database and user interface – and the assessment of critical performance factors across all 5 cricketing disciplines (batting, fast bowling, spin bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping).
The role will enable the England Team and Performance Programme to optimally develop performance and technical skills.
Nature and Scope:
Reporting directly to the National Lead for Performance Analysis, the post holder will be part of the ECB Performance Analysis unit based at the National Cricket Performance Centre, Loughborough to provide the necessary information to achieve competitive advantage in world cricket, and will also work closely with the England Performance Programme Coaches and Practitioners.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Technical Profiling of Elite Player Development Pathways, including the creation and maintenance of a Performance Profiling Database and User Interface
- Support National Lead Coaches & Science + Medicine Disciplines with analysis, feedback and user-friendly visualisation of interactive Player Development Plans in order to monitor impact of England Programmes
- Create & measure discipline specific technical, physical and mental critical factors
- Support England Series & Match Preparation as required as part of the England Analysis team
- Answer specific questions related to the strategic or performance aims of England Cricket Squads and Teams
- Undertake research to inform tactics and to support England winning games of cricket
- To undertake live coding with England Teams as allocated by the National Lead using the best available and most appropriate Performance Analysis system (currently ‘Feedback Cricket’). This could involve extensive travel both in England & Wales and internationally
- Manage the methodical storage and archiving of intelligence at the National Cricket Performance Centre to allow for timely retrieval and delivery
- Deliver Performance Analysis Best Practice, utilising the technologies and resources available at the National Cricket Performance Centre to support the England Pathways
- To undertake any additional Tasks as/when requested by the National Lead
Person Specification
Essential
- Extensive experience of providing performance analysis and knowledge management services to high performance sports teams.
- Experience of working with and contributing to a ‘World Class’ Multidisciplinary Support Team.
- Proven track record of performing and presenting clear and impactful analysis to answer performance questions
- Ability to profile performance across a range of sports, to inform coaches and support staff as to what it takes to win
- Expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary ICT hard/software related to performance analysis and knowledge management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (inc. presentation and training skills)
- Ability to present complex information with impact (verbally, visually and written form)
- Organisational skills and a strong work ethic
- Good undergraduate honours degree in performance analysis or related sports scienceComputer literacy, including MS Office, MacOS, Databases, video editing and analysis software
- Full driving license
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Performance Analysis or Sports Science
- Understanding of statistical analysis, specifically predictive analytics such as precedent analysis and regression modelling
- Experience with data visualisation software
- Research and development experience in cricket and/or performance analysis
