The Melbourne Renegades are one of eight teams playing in the KFC T20 Big Bash League (BBL) and the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in Australia. The Melbourne Renegades continue to grow due to the increasing interest, popularity and participation in Australian cricket particularly the BBL and WBBL.
The Melbourne Renegades is owned and supported by Cricket Victoria which is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations with the responsibility of developing and overseeing cricket throughout the state. However, the Melbourne Renegades is directly managed by a small and dedicated team who aim to deliver entertaining world class cricket to all their fans from Etihad Stadium.
We are currently seeking a Commercial Sponsorship Manager which reports into our Chief Executive Officer. The Commercial Sponsorship Manager is responsible for account management of commercial partners across a range of activities including activation of programs, leveraging, relationship management, measurement and reporting. This role is responsible for developing strong relationships with existing partners to maintain retention of clients as well as working to maximize new business opportunities to help drive further revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the existing portfolio and new acquisitions of sponsor partners to ensure accurate delivery of agreed sponsor benefits
- Ensure ongoing partner relationships are strong maximising value and ROI
- Be actively involved in key asset allocation
- Full integration of sponsor benefits in the event marketing plan
- Assisting the Marketing, Media and Public Relations managers utilising talent and with event promotions
- Providing event management support where applicable at all home games
- Ongoing evaluation, post season reporting and analysis, providing recommendations for improvements
- Attention to detail, juggling multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are always met
- Exceptional personal presentation and communication skills confident of engaging with partners and stakeholders
- Ensure sponsor obligations and benefits are met and expectations are exceeded
- Assisting with activations and leveraging opportunities for new and existing partners
- Drafting sponsorship contracts and agreements and negotiating terms, deliverables, timeframes, inclusions, exclusions and performance metrics
The successful candidate will need to have tertiary education in a marketing or related degree. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have –
- Need to be very organised and be able to manage multiple priorities
- Have prior experience in delivering Sponsorship requirements, campaign delivery
- Understanding of activations for Sponsors at large scale venues
- Build strong working relationships with Sponsors end to end
- Have the ability to provide ROI end of season reports for partners
- Be able to deliver player additional service agreement obligations
- Work autonomously when required
