Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is the world’s most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and is also the owner of Lord’s Ground, affectionately known as the “Home of Cricket”.
The MCC and Lord’s brands are renowned worldwide and are synonymous with excellence, prestige and providing an enjoyable customer experience, whether at an international cricket match with 28,500 spectators, or for Sunday Afternoon Tea in the Long Room.
A new opportunity has arisen for a Design Assistant to join the in-house Brand & Design Team, which services a wide range of departments within MCC. This role’s primary focus involves producing and editing artwork, supporting team members with project tasks, and contributing to the team’s overall creative output across a range of formats including print, digital, large format, packaging and merchandising.
The successful candidate will have an aptitude for learning, be customer focused, a great communicator, and are able to articulate their ideas effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Required skills and experience
This role will suit an aspiring Graphic Designer who has recently graduated or someone seeking to develop their career in an iconic sporting environment.
We are seeking candidates with exceptional creativity, with a good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CC, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. The ability to demonstrate illustration skills both digitally and traditionally are essential. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Apple Operating System will also be required. Knowledge of After Effects, Edge and Premiere would also be beneficial.
With a passion for Design, you must have the appetite to work on a wide range of jobs, and demonstrate ability to develop strong creative ideas within the realms of brand guidelines. Attention to detail, and accuracy is key, as are good literacy and communication and organisation skills. An interest in cricket would be advantageous.
Excellent written and literacy skills and the ability to prioritise deadlines and organise workloads are key. Experience of working for a premium brand and/or in the sports industry is advantageous.
