The Role:
A wonderful opportunity exists to join one of Australia's leading sporting organisations on a full-time basis. Based in Moore Park, Sydney this role has 4 direct reports and reportsto the General Manager –Game Development.
The Game Development (GD) Department is responsible for growing cricket participation and inspiring the next generation of players and fans. The successful candidate will be required to engage a diverse group of stakeholders to raise the profile of the game.
Role Responsibilities:
- Influence, inspire, encourage and assist GD employees, clubs and associations to adopt appropriate formats, recruitment initiatives, facility strategies and internal operating methods to grow cricket in your region
- Develop a strategic plan for the growth of club cricket in the region, collaborating with Development Managers (DMs) and external stakeholders
- Ensure all DMs are trained in the promotion and execution of school cricket programs and are supported to meet and exceed their targets
- Manage staff to recruit and retain as many cricketers {female/male/CALD/indigenous/all abilities] as possible in your club network, as
- recorded in the annual Cricket Census
- Establish your team and you as the primary contacts for cricket matters in your region, ensure key local stakeholders receive a high level of support
- Manage your team in the up-skilling of cricket volunteers in the MILO in2CRICKET, MILO T20 Blast, club and school cricket sectors of your region
- Collaborate with the GD Leadership Group to develop a strategic plan to deliver best practice programs, activities and facilities in your region
- Support the promotion of Sydney Sixers throughout your region and support the
- delivery of match day activities at Sydney Sixers games
Experience & Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of 3 years involved in sports administration/sporting industry in a full time capacity.
- Detailed understanding of Cricket Australia & Cricket NSW programs and pathways, including MILO in2CRICKET & MILO T20 Blast.
- Excellent management skills that enable staff to excel and achieve goals as set out in their operational plans
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate, positively influence and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to interact with a wide range of employees and volunteers
- Comprehensive knowledge of community participation in sport, including volunteer
- management
- Working with Children Check
