Lord’s Ground is the most famous cricket ground in the world and is owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club). It is an exceptional venue, with a Catering, Hospitality and Meeting and Events team renowned for delivering hospitality, corporate and private events of the highest quality.
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen within our Catering and Hospitality Department for an Events Manager – Match Day Restaurants.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale and co-ordination of all Match Day restaurants, as well as management of the County Match Day Hospitality packages. Match Day responsibilities include the management, briefing and co-ordination of the event team across all restaurants. It is essential that the restaurants are delivered to the highest standards that are expected of the Catering at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The Events Manager – Match Day Restaurants will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of MCC’s hospitality offerings, from corporate hospitality, to boxes and restaurants. Other key responsibilities include the development of the restaurant offerings, service and delivery, in keeping with the Ground Redevelopment whilst improving standards and attaining budgets.
Required skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in the events or hospitality industry. A strong customer focus, along with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish relationships with a range of customers and suppliers is required. A passion to work within the hospitality and catering industry is essential.
Strong IT skills, especially Word and Excel, is essential, along with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads and work to often tight deadlines. Significant flexibility is required for attendance on Major Match Days.
