Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services & Strategy, the General Manager Marketing & Communications will ensure all marketing, communications and fan engagement activity contributes to deep and long lasting relationships with cricket fans.
Managing the Marketing and Communications team of 7 staff, the role is responsible for developing and driving the brand strategy; ensuring that marketing and communications activities are coordinated and integrated across all mediums including social media, and ensuring a growing and balanced portfolio of stories in line with NZC’s strategic direction. Together with leveraging the extensive member database, a key focus of the role will be to harness the potential of digital platforms to drive business growth, improve member engagement and better communicate with target audiences.
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience and success in a similar strategic marketing role. You will have a strong understanding of traditional, digital and social media platforms, website/video content and fan engagement. Your experience will demonstrate your ability to commercialise assets and innovate marketing initiatives to maximise the performance of a business. Ideally, you will understand the sport business environment, from grassroots to elite, both domestic and international. A proven background in leading and influencing people is essential, as is the ability to engage with a diverse range of key stakeholders (internal and external). You will be a skilled communicator with proven ability to conceptualize and execute strategies that enhance NZC's market position. A tertiary qualification, in a marketing-related subject, would be an advantage.
