CRICKET JOBS: Head Coach – Scotland Men’s Cricket Team
Closing date: 24th March 2014
Cricket Scotland is seeking to appoint a Head Coach to lead the ongoing development of the national men’s team up to and beyond the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a team capable of competing and winning at the very highest level of world cricket. This level of performance will be consistent with our aspiration to achieve a top ten world ranking in both One Day International and T20 International cricket; and our ultimate ambition of playing Test Cricket.
The Head Coach will report to the Director of Cricket, and will be responsible for the management and performance of the Scotland men’s team in all three forms of the game. The post holder will also lead and develop, in conjunction with the Director of Cricket, a team of specialist coaches and support staff who will optimise the performance of Scotland’s elite cricketers.
Applications are invited from experienced coaches with a track record of success, and have coached at international level and/or have experience as a Head Coach in first class cricket. It would be beneficial to have successfully completed the ECB level 4 qualification or equivalent.
It would also be helpful if the post holder had a working knowledge of associate cricket - and an understanding of the challenges involved.
The successful candidate should demonstrate outstanding communication and man management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others, whilst ensuring that there is a structure in place to develop elite players as both cricketers and individuals based on clear core values.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate an ability to improve existing talent both technically and tactically, whilst identifying and integrating new talent into a team culture that is both challenging and supportive.
The Head Coach must be able to develop a robust environment and winning culture and demonstrate outstanding tactical and organisational skills, with the ability to devise and deliver plans for the optimal development of the team in all three forms of the game.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 24th March. To apply please submit a full Curriculum Vitae with a covering letter, detailing how your skills and experience meet the key elements of the post as set out in the job description and person specification.
