Job Title: Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS) Cricket Coach

Primary Objective
In partnership with Cricket Australia (CA) and Northern Territory Cricket (NTC), the NTIS Cricket Coach plays a key role
in the identification, selection and development of talented athletes and coaches across the NT.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the strategic development of the NTIS Cricket and underpinning NTC Academy Programs including all
related planning, delivery, resource utilisation and key partnerships.
2. Provide high quality coaching and tailor the provision of individualised, long-term, holistic athlete development
programs to NTIS scholarship holders in line with CA expectations and requirements. Some representative level team
coaching may be required each year.
3. Develop, implement and support the coaching of structured high performance training programs for NTC Academy
athletes and oversee the development of other cricket coaches involved in NTIS and NTC programs.
4. Measure, monitor and evaluate the development and performance of NTIS scholarship holders, NTC Academy
athletes and identified cricket coaches, and report on outcomes to stakeholders.
5. Provide leadership, strategic advice and support to NTC in the area of high performance generally, through active
participation on the High Performance Committee, and specifically in areas relating to talented athlete identification
and development, and coach education.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Current National Coach Accreditation Scheme recognition as a Level 3 Cricket Coach.
2. Proven ability to strategically develop and manage a program or work area inclusive of planning, reporting,
administration of resources and budgets.
3. A record of successful and innovative cricket coaching, particularly in regard to progressing the development of
talented young athletes, as evidenced by their success at high levels of competition.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of the application of contemporary coaching, and coach education, techniques and
practices at an advanced level, as well as proven ability to integrate the sport sciences and modern coaching
methods to improve athlete performance.
5. Demonstrated leadership and high level communication skills with proven ability to build effective cooperative working
relationships, influence behavioural change, and deliver high quality education programs.
6. An ability to interact with people of different cultures and to gain an ‘Ochre Card’ through a Working With Children
Check.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of CA’s high performance initiatives including associated structures and programs.
2. Experience in public speaking and dealing with the media.
