CRICKET JOBS: Head Coach - Chevrolet Warriors (SA)

A vacancy will arise at Cricket Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd (CEC) for the position of Head Coach: Chevrolet Warriors.
The Eastern Cape franchise controls all professional franchise players and professional cricket under its jurisdiction.
The candidate will be required to lead the Warriors team to success and be responsible for profes- sional franchise cricket. It is also expected that the successful candidate will work closely with all existing coaching and management structures within the Eastern Cape. The candidate will report to the CEO of CEC.
The more important criteria for the appointment is set out below and, although not exhaustive, shall serve as a guideline in assessing a prospective candidate.
Qualification / requirements are as follows:
- Level 4 Coaching qualification
- Previous experience of coaching a professional first class team
- Track record of coaching success
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
- Be familiar with the latest coaching techniques and methods
- Coaching of an international team will be an added advantage
In addition, the candidate should have/be:
- Strong leadership qualities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to extract the best from each player
- The capability to motivate players
- Cultural adaptability and supportive of the broader transformation project in South African sport
- Initiative
- Articulate in verbal and written form
- Good business skills and an understanding of budgets
- An understanding of marketing philosophy and brand strategy
- A logical, rational approach to problem solving
Remuneration:
- Remuneration commensurate with qualification and experience for this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The successful candidate will be issued with a three year fixed term contract, renewable based on acceptable performance and with due regard for the operational requirements of the Cricket Eastern Cape Franchise. The successful candidate will be required to enter into a performance agreement. Performance will be reviewed annually.
