WVCA is seeking:
An enthusiastic SENIOR COACH for our SENIOR MENS TEAM
Desired Personal Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
- Willingness to take personal responsibility as a coach.
- Ability to analyse problems quickly and formulate practical courses of action.
- Ability to provide foresight for planning activities commensurate to the needs of the squad
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the WVCA Board of Management
- Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the squad program in relation to our senior Men’s team.
- The Senior Coach will need to implement a plan that will ensure that all key stakeholders are developed, improved, educated and supported at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a quality structure and environment in which players can compete and progress to their highest level.
- Ensure that all players play within the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ both collectively and individually.
- Accountable to The WVCA Board of Management through the Cricket Committee.
- The Coach will be responsible for reporting the progress of the program to the Board of Management
- Ensure that the philosophies and strategies that are determined by the WVCA are delivered, communicated and adopted by all squad members.
- Oversee a program that will ultimately achieve Key Performance Indicators.
Programming:
- The Senior Coach will be responsible for a skill development program which will be consistent with WVCA mission statement. The Coach will work with any assistant coaching staff and support staff to implement the program.
- The Senior Coach will be responsible for the game preparation and direction of the senior team. This will be done in consultation with any Assistant/Development Coach and the captain.
National Level Two Coaching Certificate is a preferred requirement. If the successful applicant does not possess this then the WVCA will assist that person to undertake such a course.
