A vacancy has arisen for the position of Match Liaison Officer. Based in The Cricket Operations Department, you will report to the Umpires’ Manager.
Purpose of the Job
- The ECB Match Liaison Officer is to be appointed to matches to monitor and support the running of the whole of matches to which they are appointed.
- The ECB Match Liaison Officer shall be an independent representative of ECB at all matches to which he/she is appointed.

Principal Accountabilities
- To be a representative of ECB at county cricket matches.
- To be available throughout each appointment for consultation and briefings with the match officials, ground authorities and competing teams as required.
- To discuss the preparation of the pitch used with the ground authorities as required and witness its performance throughout the match.
- To conduct a post-match debrief and report on the performances of the match officials.
- Supporting umpires in their pursuit of optimal performance and their development as a high performing team
- To liaise with the media relating to decisions made pertaining to a match where appropriate.
- To submit to the ECB a summary match report at the conclusion of each appointment
- Effective team liaison and liaising with ECB personnel as necessary
