JOBS: Pavillion Steward Manager - Lords
Closing date: 31st January 2014
The Pavilion at Lord’s is Grade 2 listed and acts not only as a functional building providing top class facilities for professional cricketers and for the enjoyment of MCC Members watching the game, but also offers unique banqueting and meeting facilities throughout the year. It is also the base for the MCC senior management and administration teams.
We have an exciting new full-time opportunity for a Pavilion Steward Manager to manage and play the lead role in the year round stewarding operation in the Pavilion at Lord’s - the ‘Home of Cricket’. The new post holder, whilst being a working member of the team, will have responsibilities that include the recruitment, management and training of the stewarding team, the monthly scheduling of all Pavilion Steward duties and the production of rosters. The post holder will also work closely with the Pavilion Manager and deputise for him in his absence.
The successful candidate would be included in the monthly rosters with the rest of the Pavilion Stewards across early, late and weekend shifts and would need to be flexible in their approach to work. Reporting to the Pavilion Manager the new post holder would ensure they base their attendance to cover all the year round higher profile non cricket functions and events taking place and all major and most minor cricket days held at Lord’s. This work pattern would be agreed on a monthly basis in advance with the Pavilion Manager.
Ideal candidates must have a passion for cricket and/or sports, alongside proven customer service, experience of managing teams of varied sizes, administration skills/experience and the ability to build strong working relationships with all the Pavilion’s stakeholder departments.
