The ECB is seeking applications from extensively experienced Performance Analysts. Reporting directly to the National Lead for Performance Analysis, the post holder will be part of the ECB Performance Analysis Team based at the National Cricket Performance Centre, Loughborough to provide the necessary information to achieve competitive advantage in world cricket, and will also work closely with the England Team Support staff and Coaches.
The post holder will have responsibility for the pre-Series/Tournament preparation for England Senior Men’s teams, interpreting statistical data collected during live coding and through other data sources to inform strategy and selection and answering specific questions related to the strategic or performance aims of England Cricket. You may also be required to undertake travel at home and abroad as directed by the National Lead for Performance Analysis.
You will need extensive experience in the provision of Performance Analysis services to high performance teams and experience of working within a world class multidisciplinary support team. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and a good knowledge of international cricket. A good undergraduate honours degree in a field related to Performance Analysis is also essential.

Role Summary:
The post holder will have responsibility for the pre-Series/Tournament preparation for England Senior Men’s teams – including the timely compilation of statistical and visual reports to enable the England Team to thoroughly plan and prepare for future performance, interpreting statistical data collected during live coding and through other data sources to inform strategy and selection and answering specific questions related to the strategic or performance aims of England Cricket.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To undertake pre-Series/Tournament preparation for England Senior Men’s teams – including the timely compilation of statistical and visual reports to enable the England Team to thoroughly plan and prepare for future performance
- To interpret statistical data collected during live coding and through other data sources to inform strategy and selection
- To create and maintain international opposition and venue information for delivery to the England Senior Men’s teams
- Answer specific questions related to the strategic or performance aims of England Cricket Squads and Teams
- Undertake research to inform tactics and to support England winning games of cricket
- Provide training, support and manage content delivery to the ECB Performance App
- To undertake live coding with England Teams as allocated by the National Lead using the best available and most appropriate Performance Analysis system (currently ‘Feedback Cricket’). This could involve extensive travel both in England & Wales and internationally
- To provide immediate visual and statistical feedback on team performances to the England Team utilising agreed Performance Metrics and methods
- Manage the methodical storage and archiving of intelligence at the National Cricket Performance Centre to allow for timely retrieval and delivery
- Manage the First Class County Performance Analysis system
- Deliver Performance Analysis Best Practice, utilising the technologies and resources available at the National Cricket Performance Centre to support the England Pathways
- To undertake any additional Tasks as/when requested by the National Lead
Person Specification
Essential:
- Extensive experience of providing performance analysis and knowledge management services to high performance sports teams
- Experience of working with and contributing to a ‘World Class’ Multidisciplinary Support Team
- Expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary ICT hard/software related to performance analysis and knowledge management
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (inc. presentation, education and training skills)
- Ability to present complex data and information with impact (verbally, visually and in written form)
- Organisational skills and a strong work ethic
- Good undergraduate honours degree in related field to performance analysis or sports science
- Computer literacy, including MS office, Databases, video editing and performance analysis software
- Full driving license
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in Performance Analysis or Sports Science
- Experience with data visualisation software
- Research and development experience in cricket and/or performance analysis
