In line with our vision, we are seeking candidates for this coaching and leadership role in the male representative area of Canterbury Cricket.
The Performance Squad Coach is a full time position that works in the Cricket Performance area of Canterbury Cricket and reports to the Director of Cricket. The role will focus on the strategy, preparation, coaching and development of the Canterbury underage Performance Squads and National tournament U19 and U17 teams. There will be an expectation that the Performance Squad Coach will also integrate into Canterbury A and potentially Canterbury teams assisting in driving the performance, skill level and culture of all Canterbury teams.
The role will be responsible for:
- Design and implementation of the strategy and direction of Underage boys cricket in Canterbury, in conjunction with CCA coaching staff
- Coaching, travelling and directing the Canterbury Under 19, Under 17 and Senior Performance Squad teams for all matches
- Provide clarity and expertise through the programmes ensuring the cricketers get the best chance to develop into quality future First Class cricketers
- Convene the Canterbury U19 and SPS teams selection panels. Be a member of the Canterbury ‘A’ and U17 panels.
- Assist coaching staff with preparation of Canterbury and Canterbury A when required including providing specialist coaching expertise (in your strength area)
- Assist developing and implementing the culture of excellence in Canterbury cricket coaches and teams
We are looking for:

- Knowledge and interest in talent identification and development programmes
- Experience of coaching cricket at youth level
- Knowledge of programme planning and high performance programmes
- Knowledge of First Class and International cricket
