CRICKET JOBS: Physical Performance Coach - Cricket Australia (Aus)

A key pillar of the Australian cricket strategy is to “Produce the best teams, players and officials in the world”. The Physical Performance Coach will play an integral part of the achievement of this strategy through overseeing a plan and method for the delivery, implementation and evaluation of physical performance programs across the breadth of Australian cricket.
Reporting to the Physical Performance Manager and based at the Bupa National Cricket Centre (Bupa NCC) in Brisbane, you will join a team responsible for national high performance training for Australian cricket. The role of the Bupa NCC is to manage and support the development of players of national interest for the short, medium and long term needs of Australian cricket. Your role will be to supply strength and conditioning services to the national female high performance programs and teams. You will liaise with the different State programs, whilst creating a seamless physical preparation pathway for athletes between State and National programs. You will also be required to offer some touring services to other national male high performance programs.
This role is responsible for providing vision and strategy for the long term athlete development of Australian female cricketers. You will be responsible for instigating and developing new strategies and assessing the viability for use with our National teams. You will also work closely with State and National Sport Science and Sport Medicine staff and Coaches to implement these strategies into teams for optimal performance and continued development.
The successful candidate is likely to possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a recognised branch of human movement or exercise science with a level 2 Strength and Conditioning coach accreditation, with post graduate qualifications highly regarded;
- Substantial experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach in a sporting organisation and/or institute/academy of sport;
- The ability to analyse, synthesize and report information;
- A proven track record in the development and practical implementation of new strategies;
- A demonstrated history of maintained professional development and knowledge of the advancements in athletic preparation, monitoring and recovery practices;
- High levels of attention to detail; and
- Demonstrable ability to develop, manage and maintain relationships with numerous key stakeholders.
Knowledge of cricket and the physical demands on athletes will be highly regarded but not essential. This Brisbane based role requires an enthusiastic and visionary team player who is committed to providing a high level of service to the sport. This will be done through an integrated approach across multiple disciplines and teams. The ability to conduct critical analysis and disseminate information quickly is a key requirement of the role.
