Closing date: 4th March 2015

Positive Futures is a national social inclusion programme using sport and leisure activities to engage with disadvantaged and socially marginalised young people.  The successful applicant will be based in Hawtonville, Newark, supporting a small team.

The programme aims to have a positive influence on young people's lives by widening horizons and providing access to new opportunities within a culturally familiar environment.  Using sport and leisure activities as a catalyst to encourage project participation, young people are steered towards education, training and employment.

This apprenticeship will support year 3 of the project, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is keen to work within the sports / youth engagement sector.  We will provide ongoing support and training for appropriate qualifications and vocational courses.  You will be linked to a local training provider who will provide you with a flexible learning plan.

The successful candidate will be a flexible worker, willing to work evenings and the occasional weekends, with a hands-on approach, good organisational and IT skills, and an ability to seek out and respond positively to development opportunities as they arise.

Ideally the Positive Futures Apprentice will hold a BTEC or NVQ Level 2 in Sport or equivalent.
