Cricket Australia (CA) is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies and provides an exciting and dynamic environment within the sports and entertainment industry. CA is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a national level, ultimately with a responsibility for the national cricket team and professional cricket competitions played in Australia.

An exciting and unique opportunity now exists within our Match Officials Team for a motivated and driven professional to join this high performing function. Reporting to the Match Officials Manager you will be responsible for leading CA’s Match Referee panels to ensure that their duties are executed professionally and efficiently and to ensure that the assessment, selection and appointment of umpires to the umpire panels and competitions is fair, meritorious and lawful at all times.

Duties will include:
 

• Leading and managing the day-to-day performance and affairs of the Match Referees who are contracted to CA
• Ensuring that umpire assessment criteria and processes are robust, consistent and fair
• Manage the appointment of Umpires and Match Referees to CA competitions
• Ensuring fair and meritorious selection of umpires to CA umpire panels
• Ensuring that the Match Referees are sufficiently trained and prepared for their duties
• Perform the role of Match Referee

• Sound knowledge of cricket rules and regulations
• An understanding of the role of the umpire

• A capacity to travel frequently
• Sound IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications
