Auckland Cricket Strength & Conditioning Specialist - Fixed term 2-year role
Cricket is recognised as New Zealand’s premier summer sport with more than 100,000 people currently playing the game, making it one of the most widely played sports in the country.
The Auckland Aces are an elite, professional cricket team representing the Auckland Cricket Association in NZC’s National competitions. The Strength & Conditioning Specialist is an integral part of the High Performance Unit that also includes the Aces’ Coaches, Captain, Mental Skills Coach, Physiotherapists and High Performance Manager. This group drives the strategic direction and implementation of the Aces’ High Performance program.
Applications are invited for the position of Regional Strength & Conditioning Specialist for Auckland Cricket’s High Performance program.
In addition, the Auckland Cricket Strength & Conditioning Specialist will work closely with the NZC high performance team to co-ordinate the delivery of strength and conditioning services nationally.
You will develop athlete performance plans and individualised physical conditioning programs to assist players to achieve personal development goals.
You must have either 2 years’ full time (or 5 years’ part time) experience with a 1st Class, international, professional or elite team, and preferably a post graduate degree in sport and exercise science. An understanding and appreciation of cricket is essential, as is an intimate knowledge of sporting program development.
