CRICKET JOBS: Womens Head Coach - Cricket Scotland (UK)
Closing date: 15th February 2016
Cricket Scotland is seeking to appoint a Head Coach to lead the development of our national women’s team and performance programme. Our women’s team have recently returned from a global qualifying event in Thailand where the team finished fourth out eight countries, reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
The successful candidate will be tasked with leading a small but committed team of support coaches, with the clear goal of developing enhanced skill levels and a winning mentality - and group of players capable of being competitive and winning against the world’s top ten countries.
The key elements of the post will involve devising and delivering training programmes, attending all senior national & regional fixtures and driving a step change in the skills of the players involved in the programme.
Our women’s team, known as the Wildcats for the purposes of domestic competitions within the UK, currently play in Division 3 of the ECB 50 over and T20 competitions (14 fixtures), while the full international team also compete in ICC global pathway events and regional tournaments organised by ICC Europe. Our regional performance programme takes place at various venues with domestic best v best matches which allow our leading 24-30 female cricketers to compete against one another.
It is envisaged the role would require around 50 day’s commitment per annum, with a competitive financial package available for the successful candidate, which will be commensurate with experience.
Candidates will ideally have some previous experience of coaching in the women’s game and possess a minimum ECB Performance Coach (UKCC Level 3) Certificate or equivalent.
Due to the nature of female cricket this position is likely to involve regulated work with minors at times. Cricket Scotland has an open and positive stance on child protection, and therefore, all candidates will require PVG Scheme membership to be considered for the position.
Interested applicants should send a covering letter and CV to andytennant@cricketscotland.com
