The Somerset Cricket Board (SCB) wish to appoint a Youth Development Manager to provide inspirational opportunities and experiences for young people, encouraging them to develop a lifelong passion for the game. The current incumbent has received a promotion within cricket development and we are seeking a replacement for the modified role.
The post holder will manage our Schools and Street Cricket programmes, our commercial coaching programme, line manage our coaching team and launch the ECB’s entry level cricket programme in Somerset.
The post is supported by Chance to Shine (www.chancetoshine.org) and the ECB.
The Youth Development Manager will spend approximately 60% of their time managing our existing Schools and Street Cricket programmes. In 2016 the joint programmes had a budget of circa £100k and directly involved sixteen clubs, eighteen coaches and over 100 schools.

In accordance with the ECB’s new strategy (www.cricketunleashed.com) we will soon be launching the national entry-level club programme for 5-8 year olds. The Youth Development Manager will oversee the implementation of the programme, which will require close working relations with schools, clubs, coaches and stakeholders.
