PitchVision Innovation Inspires Inaugural ‘World Cup’ Event
Grass-root level cricketers are getting excited about the chance to compete in their very own version of the Cricket World Cup thanks to the innovative PitchVision system.
The interactive event features players across the globe competing “virtually” for their nation using PitchVision. Unlike online events, players will be physically batting and bowling in the practice nets. PitchVision will gather the data seamlessly. The statistics are uploaded live to the PitchVision website so players can see their country’s ranking in the event.
It’s set to be an exciting day as scores and video clips pour in from around the world. The competitive spirit of players representing their country will see high drama and one country coming out on top.
PitchVision uses unique sensor mats to detect the impact of the ball. The system can be set up in any standard cricket net. Players continue to play and practice in the normal way while PitchVision unobtrusively gathers information. For this World Cup event, the following important statistics will be gathered to determine the winner:
- Number of balls bowled
- Number of wickets taken
- Number of runs scored
- Bowling speed
- Bowling/batting averages
Neil Fairbain, Marketing Manager for PitchVision, said “The PitchVision technology is uniquely placed to allow this kind of global interactive event. Real players bowling and batting can now compete with others across the world. It’s a training aid, motivational tool and ‘real life’ arcade game rolled into one. I can’t wait to see which country comes out on top in the first ever PitchVision World Cup.”
