Quick Tip: If You Lack Genetic Cricket Gifts, Make Up the Difference
There is no doubt that genetics play a part in cricket: If you are tall and strong you can be better at fast bowling than if you are short and weak. If you have poor concentration your batting will suffer. These are hard-wired traits.
Yet you can make up the difference.
There are short fast bowlers. There are excellent batsmen with below average concentration and eyesight. The difference is that these guys have developed themselves into better players through their environment: They worked hard to get better.
This works.
If you train hard and right you get better. You even get better if you don't train right. The act of working on your cricket makes you better at cricket.
In other words, it's all about mindset.
You can use a lack of genetic talent as an excuse to do something else (and if you do, good luck, I hope you succeed) or you can use it to double down on your efforts, use a growth mindset and reach for the stars.
