The PitchVision Academy Cricket Show will be back after a short break

Filed in:

Every now and again on PitchVision Academy we like to give the podcast a little rest. Now is one of those times.

The show will be back later, but for a few weeks it's taking a well deserved break.

Don’t worry though, there is still tons of content you can get on PitchVision Academy including:

I need your feedback

While we are away I would still love to hear your feedback on the show. The cricket show is mainly about interacting with players all over the world and so far we have been lucky that people have wanted advice and cricket conversation. Without that, doing the show is pointless.

As you know we have been experimenting with focusing on short interviews with coaches and players. Some people loved it; others wanted to go back to the old style.

So my feedback question is simple:

When the show comes back, what would you like to hear more of?

Drop me a line and together we can make the podcast something every cricketer wants to listen to.

Will the Podcast be back to it's normal length after the 'experiment'?

Hi David,

* Discussion around questions from users of the site - best question of the week gets a PitchVision course.
* Gary and Ian have featured a lot which is great. I'd like to see more regular cross fertilisation of ideas through rotation of interviewees from your coaching team
* Tip of the week / Thought of the week / Tie it in to e-Newsletter of that week too
* New product testing - get manufacturers to send them to you / some readers to test and review them in a timely fashion - and feedback results
* Interesting to hear how interviewers have fared over the week if they've been playing...keep it short and snappy though.

great ideas, I'll keep them in mind. Who else has a comment?

As I have stated previously, the old format was fine. I enjoyed the opening chat between Kevin and David, it is the sort of conversation that cricketers engage in everywhere around the world, talking about how they went on the weekend, what they did good, where they stuffed up, lessons learned, etc. It was very familiar and very part of the global cricket culture if you will.

I think the show can go more interactive. In addition to written questions, users can send recorded audio questions, that way it becomes more personal and questions may even be explained better.

Haven't heard from Ian Pont in a while on the show, he should be among the regulars. All these coaches coming in on the show is very good.

Again, i agree with Aleksandar. The longer format gives you more info. At one point, Ian Pont had a question each week, then we changed to Gary Palmer. Would be nice to have a better balance or even both top coaches each week. The prize for best questions also brings better questions and more of them, in which all players, bowlers, batsmen and fielders can benefit instead of only on discipline being focused on in a short manner each week. It was worth the try but the longer format, is much better.

i enjoy the longer format of the pod too.

i know the site is primarily a coaching and technical site but i would also enjoy listening to the views of pod regulars on what had happened that week in the world of cricket whether it's scandals, player retirements or great matches, etc. i don't mean cricinfo style slick dull professionalism but a more fun hearted take on current cricket affairs. keep the technical element to the pod but a little section that is topical and light hearted would improve it i think.

Not wanting to be rude, but in the podcasts i've listened to it has been quite frustrating listening to Kevin and David's 5 minute or so rundown of how they went in their club games during the weekend. Certainly not what I'm downloading the podcast for - just the gems that come afterwards. Cheers.

Interesting to hear what Kevin and David had to say about their weekends, but please don't drag it on for too long. The scores, what you did wrong, right, but not too detailed, just brief.

More Ian Pont!!!
